Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween

The children al had a fantastic day celebrating Halloween with their friends in school. They all really enjoyed our dance and spooky parade! It is so intimidating for the little ones to go out there in front of all those people and I'm super proud of how well they all did!
I have used this weeks blog to post some photos of them all, (we will be back to normal service next week).
I didn't manage to get any photographs of the actual dance or parade so if any the mummies and daddies have anything I would love you to share.

One or two of our little ones were a bit afraid of the costumes but had a great time once the parade was over when we had lots of fun activities to do in class.

Next week we will be starting our new topic of Colour. We will be doing so many activities enabling us to recognise and name colours in our environment. You can help your child by reinforcing this at home, pointing out objects in your home or while outside and asking the colours and repeating the colour names in English. We will be using one of our favourite stories to help. Brown Bear Brown Bear by Eric Carle, helping the children to join in with repeated refrains and anticipating key events and phrases. This can also be found on Yutube.
We also use lots of songs about colour for example on Youtube:  Dream English Kids, Super Simple and Kids TV123.
Of course each week we continue with our maths activities and literacy which we do on a daily basis. The children have been doing so well recognising sounds in the environment and also letter sounds. We are continuing with activities to recognise and name numbers 1-5 but some of our more confident children are already recognising numbers to 20. For this reason we adapt all our lessons to include more challenging outcomes to ensure we enable all of our children to fly at their own pace.

I hope you have all had a happy and relaxing holiday and we look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday.
Miss Jackie
