Mini Beasts
This week we have been busy finishing off our topic on Mini Beasts. We have had great fun finding out about the different creatures we can find in the garden....and learning not to step on some of them!
Lot's of creative activities and also new language using big/small, long/short, fat/thin etc. Of course we have been continuing with our new letter sounds and everyone is beginning to repeat the rhymes and can often be heard using them while playing with their friends.
Next week is assessment week so we will be having a little break from new sounds but will continue to reinforce the sounds we have already been learning. While the children are writing their names etc we repeat the rhymes, helping them to use the correct formation of each letter.
Today we had another special Birthday in Class:
Happy 4th Birthday Belinda!
We just love any excuse for a party in Nursery!
We did some fruit tasting this week, tasting the fruits that The Very Hungry Caterpillar ate, everyone found something they liked.
We made ladybirds, but had to cut the wings first, aren't they doing well with their cutting skills?
Started painting our bumblebees...
And used our finger muscles to roll out the dough to make our snails
We made towers of bricks to see how tall we were....it was a little bit tricky!
Next week is going to be very busy for us all. We will be finishing off crafts, and having lots of Easter activities before finishing for our Easter Holidays on Friday. We will also be having Sport's Day so I hope the children all keep their energy levels as high as normal.
Important Reminders:
Tuesday: Parent's meetings, if you have not already arranged a time for these informal meetings please see me as soon as possible. We are very fortunate in Nursery and I see many of our parents on a daily basis but if you have any concerns or questions about your child's recent report please come and discuss it with me.
Thursday: Sport's Day (normal school hours)
Friday: End of term and also our BBQ, I hope to see as many of you as possible coming along to enjoy the day with us.
Have a great weekend,
Miss Jackie
